Charismatic & Creative
We are a vibrant, charismatic church that not only embraces creativity and artistic expression but also strives to be a cultural catalyst, echoing the medieval Church’s role as a patron and innovator of the arts. Our charismatic nature is evident in the active manifestation of the Holy Spirit’s gifts among our members, who regularly experience and participate in miraculous events such as divine healing, speaking in tongues, and prophetic revelations.
We believe in the contemporary operation of all spiritual gifts mentioned in the New Testament, fostering an environment where members are encouraged to exercise these gifts for the edification of the body and the glory of God. This dynamic spiritual atmosphere, combined with our commitment to artistic excellence, creates a unique worship experience that is both spiritually powerful and culturally relevant.
Release Christ's Riches
Eph 3:8 Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the Unsearchable Riches of Christ!
Why Cornerstone?
Our church name “Cornerstone” is derived from a passage of the Bible that declares Jesus Christ as the chief component of the church’s foundation:
See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” – 1 Peter 2:6
The cornerstone is described as chosen by God and precious, emphasizing the unique and valuable nature of Christ’s role.
Jesus is described as the chief cornerstone upon which the church is built12. This metaphor emphasizes His central role in the foundation of Christian faith.
Jesus is the “stone the builders rejected”
Mark 12:10 Haven’t you read this passage of Scripture:
“‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; 11 the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?”
Psalm 118:22-24 22 The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; 23 the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes. 24 The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.
Gifts of the Holy Spirit
These three are the most active gifts of the Holy Spirit exercised in our church.
Tongues
The “gift of tongues” is considered a foundational spiritual gift that can open the door to receiving other spiritual gifts, signifying a deeper connection with the Holy Spirit
1 Corinthians 14:2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12:10-11 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.
Acts 2:4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
1 Corinthians 14:39 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.
Prophecy
2 Peter 1:21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 14:1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.
1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good.
1 John 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Acts 2:17 In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
1 Corinthians 14:3 But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.
Healing
Mark 5:34 He said to her, Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.
Matthew 9:35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.
Psalm 30:2 Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.
Jeremiah 30:17 But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord, because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.
1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
Exodus 15:26 If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.
